  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter (for browning)
  • 1/2 cup (100g) dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups (195g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup (66g) mini chocolate chips, plus extra for topping
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chunks (for dip)
  • 2–3 tablespoons milk (for dip)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for dip)

Instructions

  1. Start by browning the butter. Melt it in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the browned butter, dark brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, shaping it into fry-like sticks.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven until golden brown.
  9. For the chocolate dip, melt the chocolate chunks with milk and butter until smooth.
  10. Serve the cookie fries warm with the chocolate dip.
