Ingredients
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tsp mustard
- 2 1/2 tbsp ketchup
- 3 tbsp sweet relish
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 1 tsp sugar
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of pepper
- Some butter
- 1 white onion
- 1 jalapeño
- 80/20 ground beef
- Salt and pepper
- Your favorite burger buns
- Mayonnaise
- American cheese
- Pickles
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, sweet relish (drained), vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Heat a cast iron skillet on high and add some butter.
- Grill the white onion and jalapeño until the onion gets a nice char, then lower the heat and cook for about 5 minutes.
- Set the grilled onions and jalapeño aside.
- Weigh the ground beef into 2 1/2 ounce patties and press them thin.
- Season the patties with salt and pepper.
- Cook the patties in the skillet for about 1 to 1.5 minutes on the first side until a crust forms, then flip and cook for another 30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Toast the burger buns using mayonnaise or butter.
- Add American cheese to the patties to melt.
- Assemble the burger with the patties, grilled onions, pickles, and dressing on the top bun.
